Gemstone Program

The Gemstone Program at the University of Maryland is a unique multidisciplinary four-year research program for selected undergraduate honors students of all majors. Under guidance of faculty mentors and Gemstone staff, teams of students design, direct and conduct significant research, often but not exclusively exploring the interdependence of science and technology with society.

University of Maryland Medical Center

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is the heart of the University of MAryland Medical System's downtown campus. The hospital provides comprehensive care for the West Baltimore community and tertiary care for Maryland and the surrounding area. The hospital has more intensive care beds than any other hospital in Maryland.

Dr. Bruce Golden's Website

Dr. Bruce Golden joined the faculty of the University of Maryland Business School in 1976 and served as Department Chairman from 1980 to 1996; currently, he is the France-Merrick Chair in Management Science. Dr. Golden is Team HOPE's mentor.
