Lauren Dorsey is a sophomore chemical and biomolecular engineering major. She is on the storage subgroup of Team PRESSURE and is involved in the Flexus Women in Engineering Program. She is interested in renewable energy because she would like to explore techniques to increase the energy efficiencies of preexisting alternative energies and develop new sources of renewable energy. She volunteers in the Metabolic Engineering Laboratory at the University of Maryland, under the direction of Dr. Ganesh Sriram. She also holds an executive position in the Engineering Honors Society Tau Beta Pi and serves as a teaching assistant in a Gemstone introduction course. In her spare time, she likes to swim, read, bake chocolate desserts, and play with her cat.
