Team Research

The Gemstone Honors Program's main focus is multidisciplinary undergraduate team research. Students go through the one-credit GEMS102 course where they propose project ideas and through a process of discussions, presentations, and voting get placed onto research teams. Teams of students work with an assigned faculty mentor for the next three years. The guideline for where teams should be in their research over those three years is outlined in the Timeline for Team Success document. At the end of the three years, teams write a thesis and present their findings at the Team Thesis Conference in the spring of their senior year.
