Dr. Hu Named Maryland Outstanding Young Engineer

Team NATURE’s mentor, Dr. Liangbing Hu, was named Maryland Outstanding Young Engineer by the Maryland Science Center. Sponsored by the Maryland Academy of Sciences, the award honors his work with Dr. Leite, also honored, developing technology for solar energy, batteries and electronics. Read more.
Introducing Gemstone Java JOLT Series

Every Monday from 3:00pm-5:30pm during Gemstone Java, there will be a new JOLT topic. JOLT topics are intended to support students in different areas, ranging from academics to opportunities outside of the classroom.

Nov. 17th: Gemstone students and Studying Abroad- How does it work?
Interested in studying abroad? Talk to upperclassmen who have studied abroad and learn about different study abroad programs.

There are several available positions on the Gemstone Student Council for the 2014 Fall semester. For full descriptions of each committee, visit the GSC page. You may apply for more than one position, and you will be able to preference specific chair positions at the end of the application. You do not need any experience on GSC to apply.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Nathalia spent six years attending summer pre-college programs at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. It was there where she found an interest in engineering after being exposed to various stem fields. As a Civil Engineering major and International Engineering minor, Nathalia hopes to graduate and earn her Masters in Business Administration. She sees herself traveling to many different countries to gain exposure to different cultures and ideas. Her overall goal is to be a leader and own/run a company of her own.
